About
Savings Calculator 2027 is a free, independent website built around one simple idea: understanding how your money can grow should not require a finance degree, a spreadsheet, or an account with a bank. Every calculator on this site runs entirely in your browser, shows the formula behind its numbers, and is free to use as often as you like.
Why we built this site
Most people make some of their biggest financial decisions with only a rough idea of the numbers involved: how much to put into an emergency fund, whether a slightly higher interest rate is worth switching accounts for, or how long it will really take to save for a deposit. Bank websites often bury their own calculators behind account sign-up flows, and many "free" calculator sites elsewhere are cluttered with intrusive ads, require an email address, or hide the maths behind a black box. We wanted something simpler: open the page, type in your numbers, and see a clear, honest projection in seconds, with the formula shown so you can check it yourself.
What you can do here
The site currently includes fifteen calculators covering the situations people search for most often: a general Savings Calculator, Compound Interest, a Savings Goal calculator that works in both directions (how much to save, or how long it will take), Monthly, Weekly and Daily savings variants, an Emergency Fund planner, a High-Yield savings comparison, an APY converter, Simple Interest, a CD (certificate of deposit) calculator, an Inflation calculator, and dedicated tools for college costs, vacations and a home down payment. Alongside the calculators, the Guides section explains the ideas in plain language, with worked examples, so the numbers make sense rather than just appearing on screen.
How the calculators work
Every calculator on this site is built on the same underlying engine, using standard, well-documented financial formulas: future value with regular contributions, compound interest with configurable compounding frequency, and reverse calculations for goal-based planning. We do not use rounded approximations to make the numbers look tidy; internally, calculations keep full precision and are only rounded for display. Each calculator page states its assumptions directly, such as whether contributions are treated as happening at the start or end of a period, so you know exactly what the projection is based on. If you want to see the formula in full, it is written out on every calculator page under "How this calculation works."
What we are not
We want to be upfront about the limits of this site. Savings Calculator 2027 is an educational and planning tool, not a bank, a broker, a licensed financial adviser, or an investment platform. Nothing on this site is personalised financial, tax, or legal advice, and no calculator here can account for your complete personal circumstances, your tax situation, or products specific to your country or provider. The results are estimates based on the numbers and assumptions you enter; real-world outcomes can differ because interest rates change, fees and taxes vary, and institutions do not all calculate or credit interest in exactly the same way. Where a decision is significant, such as a mortgage, a large investment, or a retirement account, we encourage you to speak with a qualified, licensed professional who can look at your full situation.
Our commitment to accuracy
We take the maths seriously. Before publishing a calculator, we test it against known reference values, including zero-interest and zero-contribution edge cases, to make sure the output matches what a careful hand calculation or spreadsheet formula would produce. If you ever spot a result that looks wrong, we genuinely want to hear about it — see the Contact page for how to reach us with the details, and we will look into it.
Who this site is for
We built this for anyone trying to get a clearer picture of their own savings, whether that is a student saving for the first time, a family building an emergency fund, someone comparing two bank offers, or a professional double-checking a plan they are already working towards. No calculator here assumes a particular income level, country, or life stage; you bring the numbers that are relevant to you, and the calculator does the arithmetic.
How the site stays free
There is no charge to use any calculator, guide, or download on this site, and we intend to keep it that way. Like most free websites, running and improving this site costs money — hosting, development time, and the work of keeping the content accurate and current. To help cover those costs without charging visitors, this site may display advertising from third-party networks, including Google AdSense, and may in future include affiliate links to relevant financial products or services. Any such advertising is kept separate from the calculators and editorial content: we do not accept payment to change a calculator's formula, to recommend a specific financial product, or to alter a guide's conclusions. Details of how advertising and any related data collection work are set out in our Privacy Policy.
A living project
This site is actively maintained. We add new calculators and guides based on what people are actually asking about, and we revisit existing pages to keep the explanations clear and the examples current. If there is a calculator you wish existed, or a guide topic you think is missing, let us know.
